Palmira Palace is still often referred to as one of the most prestigious hotels in the region. Be forewarned, however: the quality of the room does not really match the price and it really is not what you would expect to find having read a brochure or the website waxing lyrical about the magic of the place; neither does it live up to the four stars attributed to the hotel: a carpet reeking of socialism, matching furniture and total facelessness of the room decor. And yet there is at least one really special thing about the hotel: its fabulously beautiful garden. PalmiraPalace is located on the premises of the residence of the former Prince Dmitri Romanov, several kilometres from Yalta. The Livadia Palace, the Sun Trail favoured by the Russian Tsar and the Swallow's Nest are all a short walk from the hotel. A panorama lift will take you down to the beach. Similarly to other hotels in Yalta, the rates vary depending on the season and the type of room, from EUR 145 for a C category room to EUR 1380 for an A category room during high season; in low season the range is from EUR 90 to 935.
