Villa Elena It is a real gem on the background of traditional, still oozing socialism hotels of Yalta and its neighborhood. It's an incredible oasis, nestled in the very heart of once so legendary resort city, its wonderful sea and mountain scenery now disfigured by ugly block houses. Actually, Villa Elena is the only boutique hotel not only in Yalta but on the entire southern coast of the Crimea. Designed by an architect Shapovalov in 1908 and named in the honor of its owner's daughter, for a long time it was the tallest building in the neighborhood. In the 20s of the last century it housed a health institution, while in the 40s became a resort health centre, providing service for holidaymakers, arriving in Yalta with tourist vouchers. Its renovation started in 2000 and in the end of 2007 Villa Elena, shining in its former splendor, again welcomed its guests. The hotel features 22 apartments that are decorated using the finest quality materials and preserving their historic architecture. Spaciousness and light characterizes every single room, ensured by big windows and an elegant pale beige palette of décor. Every apartment has its own style, connective element being custom-made furniture, wooden flooring and silken bed spreads. They all have pastel-color wall-paintings, featuring the Crimea landscapes and somewhat ancient air, brought by authentic antiquities. Bathrooms are supplied with Chopard and Bulgari perfumery. Each apartment has a living room, entirely equipped kitchen zone and one to four bedrooms, depending on the size of an apartment. The pride of Villas Elena is its penthouse apartment with a matchless panoramic view of the neighborhood. Although located on a so called "second line", it is just a short walking distance from a central promenade. There is a small spa and a relaxing hamam within the villa, while a separate spa in under construction in a nearby building. Its restaurant Horacio is a perfect dining spot definitely worth a visit, even if you chose to stay elsewhere. Excellent cuisine, rooted within European traditions, and a very good service. And it makes the best steak in the city! Encircled by a wonderful garden, Villa Elena conjures an entirely different feeling of Yalta, the only flaw perhaps being a huge contrast with the surrounding reality. Alike elsewhere in Yalta, rates vary, depending on a season. If a low season (11.09 - 27.12 and 11.01 - 24.05) price per apartment is 215 euro, then during high season (25.05 - 10.09 and 28.12 - 10.01) it may reach 433 euro.
