Any local, being asked, would advise Nobu as the best (and the priciest) restaurant in Yalta. And, indeed, cuisine is exceptional there - just entirely Japanese. Do not even look for any traditional Crimean food there! And do not get confused - Yalta's Nobu has no relation with Giorgio Armani Nobu Restaurant in Milan, the same way as the local bastion of brands Colette has nothing in common with its namesake, a well known concept store in Paris. In this part of the world such "borrowing" doesn't cause scruples. There is a good reason, however, for nibbling sushi and sashimi and smoking a water pipe (Nobu features a special water pipe menu and a professional sommelier) at the Black Sea shore. Part of the restaurant is sited on the board of an old sailing ship Español, once built for film-making purposes. Its screen lifetime has been rich and full of adventures, being featured in "Treasure Island", "The Children of Captain Grant" as well as „Robinson Crusoe". Be sure to choose a table on the deck, offering a superb sunset panorama. Even chilly breeze, sneaking up from the sea, cannot spoil a fabulous sensation, as a cozy plaid keeps you warm. Eventually, even miso soup and tuna-avocado salad, wrapped in a white, paper-thin radish slice for 62 grivnas, savored at the Crimean beach, will not seem so outlandish to you. To say nothing of a water pipe, with a light cocktail instead of water - strawberry liqueur with milk and honey, for example...
