Town Hall Hotel & Apartments is the latest hotel to open its doors in London's East End, or the "wild east," a district filled with stylish restaurants, colorful boutiques, and avant-garde galleries. The site of the new hotel is a true pearl: the Edwardian-style Bethnal Green Town Hall, built in 1910, whose art deco interior has served as a colorful and authentic backdrop for several television programs and films. The hotel has 98 rooms and apartments, each with a different design -- masterfully combining history with contemporary design. In the true East End spirit, the hotel also serves as an art gallery, exhibiting works by six of the top local artists. The works were chosen by a professional jury, which also included the director of the prominent Whitechapel Gallery.
