Being named among of the finest Caribbean golf courses, it boasts in an unusual history, too. Situated at the Ritz Carlton hotel, it occupies a former sugarcane plantation and the owner's villa now serves as a clubhouse. A legend narrates that once it belonged to a rather eccentric landlady. She had had four husbands and none of them died of natural causes. She had lent her hand, helping them to pass away, they say. White Witch was a nickname given to her by the locals. Eventually her own heart was broken by a young plantation worker, one of her slaves. He, in his turn, had helped herself to meet the Maker.
A wonderful, hilly golf course stretches in this legendary place now. It features fascinating panoramic views of Caribbean Sea from almost any spot of it. Reservations can be easily made in advance. It should be kept in mind, however, that Jamaica is a popular tourist destination and it might be difficult to get a booking around New Year eve or Easter or holidays. Yet, even then, someone's cancellation might turn out to be your lucky opportunity. Bookings can be placed in the Internet, although, dropping into a tourist agency still might be worthwhile, paying off in a good price including a hotel, too.
