The already legendary renovation project (designed by Yoshio Taniguchi; MoMa was reopened after the reconstruction in 2004) is one of the most outstanding events of New York's cultural life. It is one of the greatest collections of modern and contemporary art in the world and represents European and American art from the Post-Impressionist period of the 19th century to the present day with more than 100 000 paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, design objects, 19 000 films etc. The exhibits include works the calibre of One by Jackson Pollock, The False Mirror by René Magritte, Gold Marilyn Monroe by Andy Warhol, The Bather by Paul Cézanne and others.
An outstanding symbiosis of art and interior. By no means leave unnoticed the view through the slightly darkened museum window the size of an oversize painting, right next to a work by Kazimir Malevich, the classic of Russian abstractionism - the surrealism of the skyscraper landscape is even more intensified by the white steam rising from the underground...
