A magnificent temple of hedonism in the very heart of the Meatpacking District. Like most other restaurants in the neighbourhood, it is set up in a converted warehouse. Authentic elements of décor from Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Malaysia. The colour scheme is dominated by deep red, purple and gold (it is designed by Jacques Garcia whose signature is the ambience of the legendary Hotel Costes in Paris). The cuisine has been inspired by South Asian street food stalls - and a typical 5th Avenue presentation style. Spice Market is owned by the French culinary star Jean-Georges Vongerichten (of Jo-Jo, Vong and Mercier Kitchen fame). One of New York's style venues since the opening day.
