Ascot Hotel, Indigo etc.

Ascot Hotel

Modest, light and refined - it certainly qualifies for designer hotel status. If it still lacks in perfection, it gains in its strategically perfect location - a popular tourist area of Colaba, a short way off the trendy Taj chain hotel, situated there, too. In terms of prices Hotel Ascot definitely sticks to the value for money principles. No showiness - just a simple breakfast, easy and very pleasant atmosphere. You will not find, however, anything typically Indian in its interior or overall ambience.

Indigo

One of the Mumbai top notch restaurants set in a pretty posh location - Colaba area, next door to exclusive Taj hotel and other popular tourist attractions. Indigo keeps up with the time presenting western cuisine and contemporary interior along with typically Indian flavors. A small two-floor restaurant features a lounge bar on the ground floor and a candlelit open air terrace upstairs - on the roof, with about 10 to 15 tables there. Favored mostly by foreigners, it may seem a bit pricy even according to western standards. Yet, the Indian version of fusion food is fantastic and full of flavor. Fish are delicious and never miss an opportunity to taste Indigo's deserts! Moreover, waiters pampering guests with an excellent service do not overplay, unlike at some other smart Indian restaurants. A table should be booked in advance.

Busaba

Busaba, an alternative choice to Indigo located just next door to it - the both restaurants even share the same address! Alike Indigo it is frequented mostly by tourists, however, this delightful dinner spot is a bit friendlier pricewise. Its stylish interior, although quite simple, possesses a pleasant touch of India - in a so-called new India style. Usual fusion style cuisine here replaces Asian one, including also Korean. Food is excellent and Busaba certainly gets thumbs-up for its ambience as well.
