Mari Ivanna

A typical St. Petersburg building, located in the central part of the city, like hundreds of others. No flashy decorations or signs. Thousands of people every day pass it by, although, only few are lucky enough to know the right door. Some of them do not even have to ring the bell - as to the closest of his friends the owner has given a key. Having made a reservation, alongside with vareniki, various salads and other delicious marvels of the authentic Russian cuisine they can feel at home and enjoy the atmosphere of a real Russian dacha.
Waiters, dressed in white shirts, a tsar's time furniture and crockery charmingly matches with a man in sweatpants, having let you in, and a plasma TV set! A big central room, holding about 10 tables, opens a view to a kitchen, with swift bustling waiters and cooks. A booklet, made of cardboard, being proudly called "a menu", is printed both in Russian and in English tongues.
Yet, do not expect a gourmet food here - servings are not very big either and prices, typically to St. Petersburg, slightly exceed the expected quality. However, eating is not the main reason, why locals frequent this place. Mutually familiar faces, again and again seen at Mari Ivanna, create a fantastic and genuine feeling of being home!
