Hotel Kazbek, Dubrovnik, Croatia

Author: Anothertravelguide.com

A spot with a special savor. Recently opened in an authentic castle that dates back to 1573, it takes you several centuries back in time. The unique Zamanje family property has endured a rather violent history. It was partly burned down and plundered in 1806, a prison was set out there during the WWII, but later on Yugoslavian communists used it as a school and a storage space.
Today, the Hotel Kazbek is fully renovated and serves as a summer residence for those wishing to enjoy the top quality comforts. Everything is exquisite, luxurious and expensive there. Offering just 12 double rooms and one suite, it features tasteful décor and the best materials - without becoming obtrusively ostentatious.
One of the major assets of the Hotel Kazbek is the location. Although the historic centre of Dubrovnik is 3 km away, the waters of Gruz Bay splash almost at its very threshold.
