The Museum of Contemporary Art is a part of the Basel Art Museum. Opened in 1980, it was the first museum in the world dedicated solely to contemporary art. The Museum is housed in a one-time 19th century paper factory. Temporary expositions feature works from collections belonging to the museum as well as from private funds. The museum also hosts various exhibitions, lectures and discussions.
