For the 44th time already, a small Finnish city of Pori will host its annual jazz festival next year. More than 100 concerts at different venues were attended by over 160 thousand people in 2008. The city does not belong only to jazz during these days, however. Aside from a diverse program of jazz interpretations, some stages are being offered to different other styles of music - even to hip-hop. Pori Kirjurinluoto Arena alone can bring together more than 70 thousand people, and the whole city seems like a huge music fair - immerse in it, explore it and enjoy your discoveries! The greatest challenge of these 10 days is not missing the artists, which you definitely wish to hear, at the same time not overlooking some other, brilliant ones too, whose names are not so famous yet. And they are numerous! Leaving a café at night, you hear melodies, applause and laughter streaming from other spots as well, almost in the whole length of a street. All the largest jazz festivals take place in July, and artists, having spent a day or two in one place, move to a next location, traveling all over Europe and North America. Dates are generally subject to change, therefore, follow information posted on festival websites.
