One of the most intriguing newcomers among the museum restaurants. Its location - the Louvre Museum of Decorative Arts - rouses even more interest. To be frank, getting there is slightly bewildering - no restaurant signs, an entrance - the same one as of the museum - and in the foyer, swarming with museumgoers by day, in the evening you will be met by a policeman. Only view through the big windows of La Saut du Loup to the yard reminds that you are in Louvre, otherwise the interior is quite peculiar - a black ceiling with inscriptions, grey - white walls, grey floor. It has two levels - on the one there is a café, with bare tables, on the other - a restaurant. Very good fusion style cuisine. Excellent bread, extravagant presentation, a very good steak, cut into three elegant bits, not served in one piece, as accustomed. Attractive plates with inscriptions - longish - resembling boats. Outstanding service. Only one but obvious failing - the very small tables and not too comfortable chairs. Waiters have to demonstrate true equilibrists' skills and precision, trying to organize plates on the tiny tables. But you, in your turn, have to control your hands while eating and talking, so that, God forbid, nothing flies off the table. It somewhat abstracts from the savoring of a dinner, which here is a true happening. However, it's worth keeping into mind that here, like in other places like this, it is more like a dainty nibbling, not having a proper meal. Servings are very small, and it is not so cheep either - about 100 Euro per person, including wine.
