Takashi Murakami: Under the Radiation Falls, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, through February 4, 2018

‘I’m the Cheshire cat, who greets Alice in Wonderland with a demonic smile.’ So the Japanese artist and superstar of contemporary art Takashi Murakami once described himself. Murakami is the direct heir to Andy Warhol’s philosophy; as such, he’s also the central figure of his own ‘art factory’. Exhibitions of his artwork draw large numbers of visitors, and it seems that the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow is well aware of this fact. On show from September 29 until February 4, its grandiose exhibition Takashi Murakami: Under the Radiation Falls  covers the artist’s career from the early 1990s to the present day.
