Darkoum, Gueliz

This shop is a joy to visit even if you don't buy anything - it's a three-storey paradise of interior design. Things from all over the world (furniture, cushions, tablecloths, art objects, the French L'Occitane products) next to Moroccan merchandise; there is a separate corner of Indian and Pakistani stuff as well. Exquisite hand-made embroidered Moroccan cushions - appropriately priced, EUR 350-600. The owner is a Frenchman, normally dressed in a white cotton caftan-style shirt and light jeans; business is conducted with ample dignity - if you seem interested, it will be the monsieur's pleasure to show you the thing, but that's it. On your next visit you will be greeted like an old acquaintance.

5 Rue de la Liberté, Gueliz
