Black berry

Opened in October 2009, the Black Berry lounge bar is the first truly contemporary watering hole in the city; it has been packed full every night since the opening day. The concept and décor reflect clear-cut European influences - don't search in vain for any national traits there. One of the bar rooms is devoted to a bookstore/library and boasts an excellent selection of literature, including Dostoevsky, Nabokov, Tolstoy and even some classical philosophers. At first glance, Black Berry and its patrons, sipping cocktails and loafing on sofas, seem totally out of place in Yerevan. Like a small cosmopolitan island, it could be located anyplace in the world, for that matter. However, if you don't succeed in your search for good Armenian wine in some of the more traditional eateries, you just may decide to come back. Black Berry is much favored by the golden youth and stylish crowd of the city.
