Veranda Natural Resort

An excellent budget option! Veranda Natural Resort is sited on a mountain in the Kep National Park's territory, offering a fabulous view over the Gulf of Thailand. Charming seaside restaurants are just a short walking distance away. A total of 15 bungalows hide in the lush hillside greenery, from small and simple ones (a traveler with a bit bulky luggage would hardly fit in there), up to family suites, tempting to linger a bit longer in this corner of the world. Due to the peculiar location, bungalows are built on stilts and interconnected by long wooden bridges. In order to move around, guests have no other choice but to use those exotic routs and climb wooden steps, up and down. And then, you can lounge on a terrace, sip a delicious drink, relish fantastic scenery and watch fishermen boats sliding away in the sunset.
A restaurant, located in a thicket of jungle, it is superb, too! Its lively and joyful staff speaks good English and a bunch of stylish guests gathers there. Jungle Restaurant is arranged on several levels. Sitting at the table on the top floor, you can see a bar one level bellow, and still lower - there is another one. It feels a bit like in a theatre...

We first wanted to stay at the Veranda, but it was fully booked. Somebody recommended the Kep Lodge, which turned out to be a real gem.
The Kep Lodge is located on the hill and has breathtaking views down the ocean from our bungalow which was surounded by many fruit trees and flowers. We spotted quite a few birds during our stay.
The round pool, a major attraction for our kids, is a great spot for a lazy day, specially during sunsets. They have a sunset happy hour and do fantastic Mojitos.
Their restaurant didn't offer a lot of seafood, but some really tasty pizzas and even Cheese Fondue.
Highly recommended!
