A place with the feel of an oasis. Enveloped by tropical gardens, Le Residence D'Angkor is located on the bank of the Siem Reap River, a bit distant yet a stone's throw from the Old Market and Angkor at the same time. In spite of the impressive number of rooms - 55 - the initial reaction as you set foot inside La Residence D'Angkor is a sense of fantastic peace, a bit like a warm caress. It is the ideal accommodation if you wish to be constantly reminded of which country you are visiting (a traditional Khmer-style building) and still enjoy all the little pleasures and comforts of staying at a fine hotel. The rooms are large and filled with light; the decor - like elsewhere at the hotel - are dominated by all the traditional Cambodian materials: wood, bamboo, silk, cotton. Each room has its own terrace with a view of either the pool or the tropical gardens. A huge bathroom with a sliding bamboo door and a tub big enough for the whole family (if you are travelling with a child). La Residence D'Angkor is owned by the well-known Orient Express chain.
