This is one of the best restaurants in Siem Reap for those who are interested in sampling authentic yet, at the same time, contemporary Khmer cuisine. A visit to Viroth's is definitely worth the trouble: the Khmer kitchen is one of the most special Oriental cuisines. It is seasonal, stands out among the rest with its unique bouquet of flavours and uses only ingredients historically available in Cambodia. The special feature of Viroth's is its modern design of a garden restaurant. One thing, though - it's essential to choose a table not in the main hall with its long dining tables where you will feel as if you were sitting in a canteen jam-packed with tourists but rather on the lower terrace where a completely different - and incredibly romantic - atmosphere reigns. Excellent choice of salads.
