Timeless Art Bookstore

Timeless Art Book Studio bookstore is a very special one, and perhaps one of the most colorful art bookshops in the word. It's a place to visit for true book connoisseurs and the ones who hunt for rare finds. Aside from it exceptional collection of books on art, architecture, design, fashion and photography from around the globe, particularly from India, the shop features a vast selection of the best books on Buddhism. The owner of Timeless Art Book Studio is Indian publisher Raavi Sabharwar, a Buddhist and a motorcycle aficionado. That explains why a Harley Davidson is placed in the very centre of the store - a gift that he gave to himself on his 60th birthday. But right next to it is a bed! It is common knowledge that books are often read in beds, besides it bestows a pleasant air of restful coziness to this place. Gentle, meditative lounge music sounds in the background, and it takes just a while to forget the bustling, chaotic city outside, and fully immerse into the world of books. There you can savor a cup of tea and delicious chocolate cake (they are fabulous in Deli!), or browse a gigantic edition of Taschen almanac The Godfather Family Album, displayed on a wooden stand. Books can be found even in the restroom!

Raavi Sabharwar works in the publishing field for more than 46 years, and Timeless Books specializes in coffee-table books devoted to India, Bhutan and Nepal. Some of them are one-of-a-kind pieces of art, but the pride of the collection is a photo album Panorama of India by Yaroslav Ponckar (Rs 30 000). Currently, the publishing house works on its first mega-album project. It should be noted, however, that finding the store can turn out to be quite an adventure as well, and most probably no taxi-driver will know about its existence. At least, it goes far beyond anything you could ever imagine finding, wondering along the streets of Deli South Extension area, crammed with auto repair shops, small paint stores and street eateries. To say nothing of books you can buy there...

Opened every day from 10.00 to 18.00
