Fabindia

Fabindia stores spread all across India and are great for purchasing beautiful home textiles, quality cotton shirts for men or modern versions of traditional Indian garments. There are departments of traditional Ayurvedic medicine, organic foods and clothing for women and children as well. Fabindia was established in 1960 by an AmericanJohn Bissell who arrived in India on a Ford Foundation grant. He was amazed by unique craftsmanship of Indian weavers and shocked by their harsh living conditions. Fabindia's vision was to preserve local skills and traditions and give Indian artisans a stable income. Nowadays, the company has developed into an empire employing over 15000 craftsmen in different parts of India.
There are 2 Fabindia stores in Goa - the largest one in Panjim and another in Candolim.
