InterContinental Marine Drive Mumbai

The small designer hotel comprising 47 rooms and 11 suites is sited on Mumbai Marine Drive, dubbed the Queen's Necklace, boasting numerous gems of Mumbai's cultural heritage. You can choose a room either with a sideway view of the bay or one directly overlooking the sea and the coastal promenade. From your hotel window, you'll see joggers trotting it in the mornings and romantic couples gazing into the Arabian Sea late at night.

Comfortable and well-equipped rooms are decorated in a tasteful, minimalist style with prevailing chocolate and creamy palette of colors and the service is equally outstanding. Regardless of the wonderful view, it's not a great idea to stay in the entire time however. One evening should definitely be devoted to Dome Bar, a current top spot of the city, and there's a good reason for that! Unlike many other rooftop bars, the panoramic view from the 8th floor of the hotel is never obscured by fog and is truly beyond compare. Like the hotel itself, the bar features a clear and laconic Asian-style décor. The highlight of the white lounge is its public - crème de la crème of the local society and, of course, the guests of the hotel. The bar consists of two relatively separated areas - the bar itself and an open-air space with white-clad armchairs and sofas set around a swimming-pool. There you can savor cocktails, sushi and a very good seafood cuisine. Although this joy doesn't come cheap, it's definitely worth the money.

Quite attractive, both design- and cuisine-wise, is a Thai restaurant Koh, set in the lobby of the same hotel. Its iPad-format menus provide entertainment for kids and some peaceful moments for their parents. Such a technological novelty, although not yet widespread in restaurant world, allows avoiding nasty misunderstandings with foreign names of dishes, which have no meaning whatsoever for you. Here you can look at pictures, zoom in every detail and "taste" each dish with your eyes, before actually ordering it.

InterContinental Marine Drive Mumbai, both the hotel and the restaurant, pampers its guests with an excellent, attentive service. If any misunderstanding occurs, it can even be compensated for. As for price, design and location - it's very close to perfection!
