Hot Pink, Jaipur

Author: Anothertravelguide.com0 COMMENTS

Hot Pink, located in the Niwas Palace hotel, could actually qualify as a designer shop. An excellent choice of quality silk and cotton clothes - 100% handmade and created by the local designers. Sophisticated intricate embroidery and silk blouses delicate like sea foam. The design combines the best of western and Indian traditions. Fabulous cashmere shawls and home textiles. The décor of the store is slightly reminiscent of a bohemian jewellery box: it could very well take its place on any luxury shopping street in Europe. It just makes one wonder once again: who is inspiring whom more - India or the West? It's hard not to think of Saint Laurent and Marrakech in this respect. Compared to the normal Indian price range, everything seems quite expensive: a handmade white natural silk dress with elaborate embroidery sets you back the equivalent of USD 295. The price may seem out of proportion but think again: if you saw the dress in Paris, in one of the luxury brand stores in Rue Saint-Honoré, there would probably be a four-digit amount on the price tag.
