Soma offers collections of both home textiles and clothes. The brand was founded in 1984 and provides jobs for more than 300 Rajasthani families. Perhaps the design of the adult collections is not as creative as at Anokhi; however, the Soma children's line is every parent's dream. Soma has also remained faithful to block printing, the pride of Rajasthani culture. It is all handmade, and to cover a 90 x 108 cm piece of fabric with ornaments, it is printed with teak blocks of different colours some 1400 times on the average. Nature-inspired motifs dominate the print designs: flowers, leaves, birds, fruit, fish and shells. Everything is 100% cotton at Soma, and only natural plant-derived and non-toxic chemical fabric dyes are used.
