Books@Cafe

Books@Cafe is not your run-of-the-mill café, but a meeting place for locals, expats and tourists carrying the Lonely Planet guide. The first floor has a large bookshop, while the second floor hosts a café, which serves as a crossroads for the most diverse travellers. The lively Pop Art-patterned interior has comfortable sofas, with Amman's mountain panorama looming behind the terrace's large windows. The establishment hosts a mixed, babbling crowd. One will be drinking tea, another will be smoking a water pipe, while a third will be reading a book or having lunch, with two languages dominating - Arabic and English. The staff, with its quick service, is very obliging, and will recommend the best places in the city.
