One of the best budget lodgings, located in the city centre, is an excellent illustration of the first fruits of young Laotians' entrepreneurship. The guest house offers 9 spacious rooms, leading out into small adjoining gardens on the ground floor, or little terraces on the second. The modest décor, featuring teakwood finish, silk textiles and paper lamps, exudes typical Laos's style and ambiance. It offers friendly and obliging service, personnel, however, is a little languid, still learning skills of their trade and fluency of English language.
The guest house is excellently sited just in front of Wat Visoun - the oldest temple in the city, and a short walk from boutique-gallery Kopnoi. Located nearby is also L'Etranger, Books & Tea, a perfect spot for starting one's day with a nice, slow breakfast, browsing some fiction, travel or Laos photo albums, available there too.
