Les 3 Nagas is one of the best Lao restaurants in Luang Prabang. L'Eléphant may be housed in the owner's grandmother's home but Les 3 Nagas is the place where her authentic local recipes are executed to perfection. Excellent and quite diverse food, including, of course, all sorts of local fish from the Mekong River prepared, for instance, by roasting with spice in banana leaves. Delicious! Also quite a choice of stews and soups - an ideal place for enthusiasts of Asian cuisine. Compared to much of the food loved in the neighbouring Thailand, the traditional Lao fare is not quite as hot and more reliant on a natural bouquet of flavours: lemongrass and a variety of herbs.
On the other side of the street look for Mango 3 Nagas, located in the yard of Les 3 Nagas hotel; it is one of the most popular eateries in the city, being both relatively new and quite small. Do book in advance during the tourist season. A good choice for lovers of fusion cuisine.
