Souk el Tayeb

Souk el Tayeb was the first farmers' market in Beirut and is still the most popular. Part of its success lies in its support of the Slow Food philosophy, which means that organically-grown, seasonal products by local farmers are the norm. Peasants arrive here from all over the country to trade their wares, and in a sense, the Souk el Tayeb is a meeting point of various cultures and gastronomic traditions.
The Souk is open in different parts of the city, depending on the day of the week. On Saturdays it takes place at the Saifi Village Parking (from 9:00-14:00), while on Wednesdays it can be found at the ABC Achrafieh Parking, Level 3, Achrafieh Str (from 16:00-20:00). To make sure of the exact time and place, it is best to first consult the Time Out Beirut Magazine.
