The Clinic, Aurum

A club, a bar and a restaurant under the same roof. A spooky little place, inspired by Damien Hirst, the enfant terrible of British art and founder of the Pharmacy restaurant in London. Actually, 15 works by the artist form a part of The Clinic's décor, perhaps as a sign of respect for the source of inspiration. The restaurant chairs are reminiscent of stylised wheelchairs; the tables - very much like the gurneys patients are wheeled around in at hospitals - as well as the tableware evoke direct associations with laboratory equipment. Dinner is a ritual in itself, the cuisine - as experimental as the design; some food critics have dubbed it "molecular gastronomy". This is a place worth visiting at least once, providing you don't lose your sense of healthy irony and take it as an adventure. $$
