This is the main shopping street in Singapore - think Parisian Champs-Élysées times ten. An inconceivable concentration of mega department stores in a single avenue. All the top brands known to humanity, from Zara to Louis Vuitton,Chanel, Salvatore Ferragamo etc. - so many of them that only two possibilities present themselves: either your trip to Orchard Road will result in a nasty hole in your credit card (the offer is mostly quite different from that in European stores, and it just makes all the stuff so much more desirable), or you will just cut and run, and probably nurse a bad allergy to shopping for a week or so.
