Before the time of Hyatt Regency, the undisputed owner of the title of the best hotel in Dushanbe was Hotel Tojikiston. It boasts the perfect location: in the very heart of the city, next to the Culture Park named after Rudaki and the new Palace of Nations. The hotel has been there since the Soviet era, a fact somewhat betrayed by the design of the building; however, the new owners have done everything in their power to make the aura of the bygone days disappear, providing friendly and welcoming staff and a cosy, comfortable decor inspired by ethnic motifs. You feel welcome as soon as you set foot inside the lobby; besides, unlike the über-posh five-star Hyatt Regency, Hotel Tojikiston includes breakfast, wireless internet access and guest registration in the rates.
