Sop Moei Arts is a non-profit organization that for the last 30 years works with representatives of the Pwo Karen tribe, living in Mae Hong Son Province. The authors of some truly amazing interior items, available at Sop Moei Arts shops are tribesmen themselves. There are home decors, handmade silk and wool textiles, teak wood tea-tables, hampers, serviettes, cushions and much more.
The aim of Sop Moei Arts is to provide regular income for people who have faced poverty and starvation for a long time. Yet, it is not easy even today, due to still existing labor discrimination, under-education and poor knowledge of Thai language among Pwo Karen people.
