Chor-Bakr Chaikhana

A small Chor-Bakr restaurant is located about 6 km from Bukhara, right at the turning to Chor-Bakr necropolis. It is one of the ancient memorial complexes, restored to its former grandeur now, and listed as the UNESCO world heritage site. Sitting on a small Chor-Bakr backyard terrace, you'll have to fight off a bunch of wasps, and the eatery is plain and humble, yet it prides itself in making the best shashlik in the neighborhood and exceptional tandyr kebab, baked in a traditional clay oven. Meat is so soft and tender that seems almost melting in your mouth. At lunchtime, the place buzzes with visitors, most of them locals and long-distance drivers, with hardly any tourists being among them. Good quality food and friendly prices.
