Green Tangerine

Green Tangerine has attained almost legendary status among Hanoi's restaurants. It's a true oasis in the very heart of chaotic Old Quarter. Sited in a carefully restored French colonial style building that dates back to 1928, it pleases all the human senses. The entrance leads through a small, tangerine tree entwined courtyard - the most sought after spot in warm summer afternoons. Although somewhat illusory, yet Green Tangerine still oozes an old-world charm and is much favored by Hanoi-residing foreigners, yearning for something familiar. Tangerine offers modern French fare with Vietnamese twist, featuring perfect blend of flavors and style of presentation. Crab with green and red peppers and tomatoes, blazed in cognac or soft-shell crab filled with southern fruit and feta cheese are equally good. It's one of the priciest places in Hanoi, however, with a glass of Merlot for 4.50 USD.
