Song

Song (meaning "life" in Vietnamese) is a small, tasteful two-storey shop opposite to the St. Joseph's Cathedral. "Beautiful style for beautiful people in beautiful places" is its motto and its collections live up to it in every sense. The label is created by the French fashion and lifestyle designer, Valerie Gregori McKenzie. Having studied in France and California, she lives in Vietnam for 16 years now and has set up her boutique in Hanoi and another one in Ho Chi Minh City. McKenzie's creations comprise comfortable yoga attire, made of bamboo fabrics, men and women apparel, accessories and home décor. Collections featuring eco-friendly and leisurely holiday style are made mostly of cotton, linen and hemp and are richly embroidered. Moreover, everything is hand-made - a genuine luxury nowadays, almost extinct like the dinosaurs or extremely expensive. Although pretty steep in comparison with overall Vietnam's price level (embroidered linen dress -100USD), these fine quality artisan goods will serve you well, unlike lots of others spur-of-the-moment travel purchases. Song designer cooperates with well-known brands such as Habitat and Nicole Farhi.

Mary Flaherty

I lived & worked in Hanoi during 1999-2000 & I loved walking around the city from morning to evening…. I really enjoyed the food, drinks & atmosphere of a café called Mocha & across the road was a shop that sold ‘Song’ clothing that I also loved …. I bought some fantastic Song clothing … is it possible to clothing items on line & post to Australia?
I’d be keen to hear back.
Mary from Adelaide. Merci.
