Amos Anderson Art Museum
Author: Anothertravelguide.com0 COMMENTS

The museum founded by the publisher and patron of arts Amos Anderson houses one of the largest private art collections in Finland, focusing on the 20th-century Finnish art. Since the museum collection is not large enough to offer an exhaustive overview of the development of Finnish art, the spotlight is placed on specific phenomena, artists and periods: the early and mid-1900s; the November Group and early modernist art. Alongside painting, sculpture, graphic art and photography, the holdings comprise objects of applied arts: textiles, furniture, glass and ceramic interior objects from the decor of Amos Anderson's house. The museum regularly holds themed exhibitions, covering contemporary and traditional art, architecture, applied arts, etc. The Amos Anderson Museum is also a frequent venue to exhibitions by young artists from Finland and other Nordic countries.
