Klaus K

Klaus K is the first and currently the only design hotel in Helsinki. It is set in a 19th century national romantic era building (formerly Klaus Kurki hotel), on a lovely, tree-lined Bulevardi Street. The hotel's concept symbolically links the best Finnish architectural and literary traditions. Its décor has been inspired by Finland's national Kalevala epic, the design being developed in cooperation between a well-known Finnish architectural studio SARC and a Swedish company Stylt. The hotel features 137 rooms, interpreting four emotional themes of the literary work - passion, desire, mysticism, and envy. The hotel's design undeniably presents an adventure, yet a considerable disadvantage appears to be the size of rooms and excessive density of interior details. Standard rooms are extremely small (the ones marked as „mini" are precisely like that), and therefore seem a bit pricy, if only your do not opt for exclusively design lodgings.

Rates from 144 Euro.
