Designed by Jean Nouvel. A unique contemporary art exhibition hall which belongs to the Cartier luxury jewellery brand and has housed exhibitions by Marc Newson, Takashi Murakami and Jean-Paul Gaultier (the latter with an ironic collection of designs Pain Couture in which some his most famous creations were replicated in bread). Fondation Cartier belongs among the most respected institutions of modern art in Paris, and its holdings contain more than 900 works by 250 artists. Fondation Cartier was opened in 1994 and on the average holds seven exhibitions a year.
