Marais House

Marais House is one of the most unique hotels in Paris, so if you wish to stay at this luxury establishment, then you will probably have to make reservations well in advance. The five-room Bed & Breakfast hotel is located on one of the oldest streets in the Marais district, and in one of its oldest surviving buildings from the 15th century. Its stone floor and basement ceiling arches have still survived from that era, and the basement is also where the dining room can be found.
You will not err if you feel that you are staying in a small palace in the very heart of the Marais district. When the proprietor, who also owns a small 15th-century château in Turin, purchased the Marais House, almost nothing in its interior testified to the building's former glory. This deficiency has now been rectified, and the building's historical atmosphere has been completely restored. Regardless of the room that you choose (Venitian, Velvet, Studio, Elephant or Celadon), each houses a mini treasure trove. For example, Venitian has two painted 18th-century doors that open onto an atrium, as well as a Louis XIV-era stone fireplace. Velvet is adorned with 17th-century terracota tiles, while Studio boasts a 15th-century stone slab floor from a Burgundy convent.
The owners know the city very well, and you can place full confidence in their restaurant recommendations.
