Fouquet's Barriere

Author: Anothertravelguide.com0 COMMENTS

An epitome of the 21st century French palace or an equivalent of a Chanel handbag in the hotel design. Opened in 2006 Fouquet's Barriere is worth to visit destination, even if you do not intend to stay there, and would be the pride of any metropolis. Its façade, molded in concrete, retains the elegant shape, typical to buildings of the historic centre of Paris. Designed by French architect Edouard Francois, it prides in a unique location - Avenue George V and Avenue des Champs-Elysees. Its remarkable interior is created by the interior designer Jacques Garcia, having designed the famous Hotel Costes, too. Prevailing palette comprises beige, chocolate and gold, revealing itself in fine textures of silk, velvet, leather, marble and crystal that form an exquisite luxury of a present-day palace. Spacious guest rooms with high ceilings, so untypical to Paris hotels, are lavishly decorated. A leather headpiece of a bed, stitched in gold, and a flat screen TV is embedded in the mirror, totally invisible until it is turned on. Windows of the suites overlook Avenue George V. The hotel features an excellent bar, a restaurant and courtyard terraces, wonderful to enjoy sunshine and fine weather. And certainly a spa! A state-of-art luxury spa prides in a gorgeous swimming pool - one of the largest indoor pool in Paris.
Fouquet's Barriere is great choice for those, who have been in Paris not just once. Yet, if you wish to savor old Paris chic, then George V, Le Meurice or Crillon would suit you better. Fouquet's Barriere is ideal for those who desire (and can afford) to savor modern design in its finest expression.
