Les Philosophes

Author: Gunita Kakteniece0 COMMENTS

Les Philosophes is one of the most typical cafés of Le Marais district. A distinctive Parisian style marks the place - high ceiling, large windows and closely placed tables. Soft sofas line along the walls, and waiters serve guests dressed in black uniforms and white aprons. Les Philosophes is one of the rare spots in the city where late breakfast is available on a working day as well. Moreover, the choice is very good, and it includes champagne breakfast too, if you wish. At the same time, there is nothing ostentatious or overdone about it. The pleasant and modest interior makes a nice ambiance for a good chat over a cup of coffee, and in summertime tables are set up outside on the street as well.
There is a piquant detail about its décor, however, which refers to its rest-room. Without going into any details, I can tip-off that one cannot actually see through the glass bookcase that separates ladies' and gents' sides - no need to fret at all.
