Terroir Parisien

Bistro Terroir Parisien is one of the most colorful newcomers on Paris restaurant scene. Its name is a very illustration of its concept - all the ingredients in its dishes are from Paris or its neighborhoods. From the very soil of Paris, or, using winemakers' wording, - a truly Parisian bouquet right on your plate! It's based upon a unique combination of Parisian soil, climate and sensations. The project is brainchild of a three-star Michelin chef Yannick Alleno and he doesn't hide how challenging it has been. The modern-day Paris is not like it was fifty or hundred years ago, when farmers from the surrounding areas could feed the entire city. After all, the very Parisian soil or "terroir" forms the foundation of French gastronomy. Nowadays, when many agricultural farms no longer exist, fine quality local products are hard to find. It becomes especially obvious in farmer markets, as soon as you would inquire about origin of the offered products.
Yannick Alleno, however, has managed not only to fulfill his dream but to add a truly innovative touch to typical French cuisine. Be sure to try his black pudding, for example, - so amazingly good (and so unusual in its presentation) that it's quite unlikely to taste anything like that anywhere else. In fact, any dish is an adventure there.
Terroir Parisien, located on a small Latin Quarter lane, is quite small, with just a mirror wall conjuring up some roominess. Its contemporary décor with wooden ceiling resembling a yacht gives a feel of setting off on a journey - just this time it's a gastronomic journey through the French cuisine.
