Café Marly

Owners of this place, the Costes brothers - the notorious sharks of the Parisian restaurant business - could be the envy of anyone. It is a terrace hidden under the arcs on the courtyard side of the Louvre with a view of the famous glass pyramid. Besides, Café Marly has camouflaged itself so successfully in the beige façade (no sign in sight) that, in spite of being located in the very heart of the tourist circuit, it will remain unnoticed by an ordinary scurrying by. Perhaps that's exactly the mystery and magic of Café Marly. Sit on a wooden chair upholstered with somewhat faded red cotton fabric, look at the pyramid and watch people swarming like ants in the most popular square in Paris. Or perhaps choose a table in the restaurant indoors, all velvet chairs and bourgeois decadent charm. This is one of the most delectable places of style in Paris, one of those spots of which it is said: if you haven't been there, you haven't been in Paris.
Lunch for one (without wine): EUR 30- 50 on average.
