Culinarium

If you're looking for some local spice, your first impression of Culinarium might be: been here, done that (in terms of the place's looks), from Stockholm to Berlin. However, there are several things that raise Culinarium above the rest of the pack in terms of food. First of all, at the helm in the kitchen is Tekuna Gachechiladze, aka The Queen of Georgian Fusion, and this moment's hottest chef specializing in contemporary Georgian cuisine.

Second, Culinarium is also the location of the first and only culinary school in Tbilisi. To top it all off, the menu changes regularly, and there are periodic “thematic evenings” that focus on cuisines from various areas of the globe. The latter is a present-day reminder of the fact that Georgia has always been at a cross-roads between Europe and Asia, and at least in terms of the food, strong influences can still be sensed from both regions.
