ČSA Bar

Karl Marx Alley, once known as the proletarian Champs Élysées, is the largest street in the former East Germany, unique with its Stalin era buildings that used to be populated by the apparatchiks of the time; the one currently housing the ČSA Bar used to be the office of České Aerolinie or Czech Airlines - hence the name. The design of the bar is such a contrast with the surrounding architecture that it makes the place worth a visit - do have at least a cocktail there. It is dominated by laconic minimalism, and the only accents are the red lamps and bottles behind the counter. The room is quite small and more like an intimate club than a bar: it is a place to settle down in one of the corner sofas and have a chat with your friends. You won't get to see a lot of tourists there.
