Si An

Should you happen to wander into the Prenzlauer Berg locality just outside the Berlin city centre, and find yourself craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine, Si An would definitely be the best choice. This is one of the best restaurants in this city, and instantly impresses with the discreet and barely perceptible presence of Asia. The light, contemporary Oriental aesthetic is reflected only in a select few interior details and ornaments, such as the origami birds intermingled with original, handmade Vietnamese lanterns. The rest of the interior consists of wooden tables and chairs, a counter which separates the busy chefs from the rest of the room, and a blackboard for the day's specials.
The restaurant is housed on the ground floor of an early 20th century building, typically Art Nouveau in its style and atmosphere. Compared to its big sibling, the Chi Sing restaurant in the centre, Si An offers even friendlier prices and an equally excellent and wonderfully fresh bouquet of flavours. Next to the restaurant is the Si An Tra tearoom.
