Papadakis

Modern Greek cuisine; the clientele consists mainly of affluent Greek patrons: politicians and businessmen. The restaurant is located slightly aside from the main hustle and bustle of the city, on one of the undulating streets of the Kolonaki district. It is a great place to go for a lunch, one of those eateries popular for the food and the atmosphere equally. To make the most of your visit, do book in advance one of the few tables on the open-air terrace. It feels a bit like sitting in an open-air cinema: make yourself comfortable in the green shade of the trees and watch the little everyday mise-en-scenes unfolding right in front of your eyes (up- or down-hill), each one more vivid than the next.
Excellent service and eye-catching plating. As the final touch alongside the traditional limontselo - the Greek version of limoncello - and Greek grappa, you will be served some mouth-wateringly delicious homemade strawberry liquor, impossible to refuse.
If you are staying in Psirri, Papadakis perhaps is not one of those places worth travelling across the whole city for; however, should you happen to find yourselves in Kolonaki, do check it out. Admittedly, the prices are much heftier compared to similar places in Psirri. A different crowd - a different pricelist, that's the way it goes.
