Rézkakas

While there is a separate menu featuring international gastronomy, Rézkakas is mostly known as one of the leading restaurants serving national cuisine in Budapest. It is a expensive white-tablecloth place with a reserved atmosphere. Gentlemen wear jackets or suits; even the violin band delivers its local gypsy tunes, classical and opera melodies in quite a discreet manner. Despite that, the place is dominated by a genuine Hungarian spirit: everything is real and authentic here; this is no countryside faux-Lido. After all, the origins of the restaurant date back almost half a century: an establishment with a history.
