Sforza Castle art gallery and museums (Pinacoteca del Castello Sforzesco)
Author: Anothertravelguide.com0 COMMENTS

This imposing citadel was once the ducal residence of the Sforza family. It now houses several art museums, including the Pinacoteca del Castello Sforzesco. Here one can find such masterpieces as Michelangelo's last sculpture, the Rondanini Pietà, as well as Andrea Mantegna's Trivulzio Madonna and Leonardo da Vinci's Codex Trivulzianus manuscript.
Museums of ancient art, furniture, musical instruments, applied arts, archaeology (with Egyptian and prehistoric collections), and a collection of prints by Achille Bertarelli can also be found in the citadel complex.
