This small and little-known museum is perhaps one of the most interesting in the city. A permanent exhibition devoted to Leonardo da Vinci - one of Italy's foremost artists and scientists - is divided into in two parts: Leonardo, Citizen of Milan and Appreciating Art Through the Eyes of Leonardo. The building also houses a Didactic Museum, with one of Europe's leading centres for distinguishing authentic artistic items from forgeries. An adjacent scientific laboratory is devoted to certifying and determining the age of wooden objects.
